Tata Xenon Xt New Lifestyle Vehicle From Tata Motors
Tata Motors has a long history in the Indian car market. The leading car manufacturer has introduced many successful cars along with its popular Tata Indica that has completed over 10 years of its success. Other popular cars by the manufacturer are Tata Safari and Tata Indigo. Recently the manufacturer has introduced a new lifestyle pick up named as Tata Xenon XT (Cross Terrain).
Tata Xenon XT is a new lifestyle pick up that will set new benchmarks in the SUV segment that is at present headed by the Tata Safari and Mahindra Scorpio. The Safari and Mahindra are ruling the segment since years and have experienced many changes and significant improvements in the past several years to keep pace with the aspirations of the changing generation. The new car is designed with a sturdy, stylish, and aggressive structure. It is further accentuated by trademark ‘Tata’ grille, wraparound clear lens headlamps, flared fenders, side indicators on the outside rear view mirror, and roof rails. The stylish alloy wheels add enhance the visual appeal of the car and add drama to the aggressive exterior.
In the interior of the car, Tata has packed a host of innovations and functional features. The interior possesses almost all the features that a luxurious SUV behold. It is packed with features like power steering, power windows, electrically adjustable side rear view mirror, central locking, air-conditioner, and height adjustable seats. Furthermore, the charcoal grey accents highlight the ambience.
Under the hood, the Xenon XT is equipped with a powerful 2.2-litre VTT DICOR (Variable Turbine Technology - Direct Injection Common Rail) diesel engine that churns out an awesome power of 139 bhp. The powerful DICOR engine is packed under the hood in its compact size to improve performance and fuel efficiency. In addition, the electrical shift-on-the-fly mechanism and a limited slip differential help improve the performance of the car. Both these features are available in the Safari and have contributed to its success in India. Electrical shift-on-the-fly is a mechanism that allows the shifting of two-wheel drive to four-wheel drive while the vehicle is moving and the limited slip differential limits the torque and speed difference between the wheels. Furthermore, a rugged ladder frame and alloy wheels increase the off-road capabilities of the car. The powerful engine is mated to the independent double wishbone suspension in the front and parabolic leaf spring in the rear. These further improve the handling and stability of the car.
The most exciting part of this new car is its massive load capacity. The manufacturer also offers an opportunity to customize the car with an assortment of accessories like bed-liners, fog lamps, canopy, boot lid, and rollover bars offered by the company.
