The 2000 Jetta had a 1.8 liter four-cylinder; its horsepower output was 150 hp @ 5700 rpm, and it delivered torque level of about 155 lb-ft @ 1750 rpm- 4600 rpm.

The various trims in Jetta are broadly divided in 4dr Sedan GL, which comprises of 6 different stlyes , 4dr Sedan GLS which comprises of 10 different styles and 4dr Sedan GLX that comes in two different styles.

The two transmissions available on 2000 VW Jetta included a four speed automatic and a five speed manual gear-box.

Exterior and Interior

The highlights of the exterior styling cues of the vehicle were its stylish body side molding , front and rear body color bumpers , day time running lights , internally adjustable heated body color door mirrors and halogen bulb headlights.

On the city streets, 2000 Jetta gives gas economy of 19mpg and on highways it goes up to 28 mpg. It was offered with starting MSRP of $16,700, which extended up to $24,170 depending on the trim and subsequent styles/amenities.
