It is designed for low profile applications. It is a 20 gauge steel small-sized housing that is compact enough to fit in 2"x6" joist installations, allowing it to be used in "shallow" applications. This housing is designed to be used with the low voltage WAC Lighting 3" Trims. The 3" 800 Series New Construction Housing is a low voltage new construction downlight with an integral electronic transformer for ceilings, soffits, and other low profile applications. Housing and junction box are 20 gauge steel, painted black. Frame and hanger bars are heavy gauge galvanized steel. The electrical component within can is a bi-pin ceramic socket with 18 gauge Teflon insulated wires with fiberglass sleeves.
