How to replace your tail light
Before any installation you have to confirm your new tail light for any formalities like cracks and the bulbs but you should note that not all the lights comes with the bulbs and instead you will be required to use your factory bulbs. Last thing you should check if the car tail lights are missing any other accompaniment like the rubber gasket because once you dismantle the other ones for replacement they cant be reused. Here are the steps to follow for the correct installation of the car tail lights: 1. Assessment – you should put the lights in your trunk then you should remove the factory bulbs and harness, before you plug the bulbs into the new car tail lights to test for the fitment make sure the factory tail light is still bolted to the car, but when you are using the supplied bulbs and harnesses you have to remove the factory light from its connection and then fit with the supplied bulbs and if the fit well you will be at liberty to remove the factory lights. 2. Removal – you start with removing the paneling which covers the metal on the backside of the car tail lights where the lights are mounted on the inside of the trunk which has a carpet trim. After removing the paneling you will be able to see the bolts that fasten the lights then remove the entire bolts one after the other, when done with that slowly remove the lights out of the holes and avoid breaking the seal on the factory gasket by not moving the lights sideways from the connection point. The bolts and the nuts should be kept at safe side since the car tail lights supplies does not come with new ones unless if you have purchased new ones yourself. When the lights have been completely removed from the vehicle make sure all the gasket has been removed and if possible scratch it away. 3. Installation – the most vital part to begin with when it comes to setting up you have to begin with the gasket, then when the process is complete take your new car tail lights and push in the studs through the holes slowly to make sure the car tail lights is properly fitted. From there hand tighten with bolts and nuts then gently push on the tail light to its position while in that position tighten to hold the car tail lights tight. Note that the bolt should not be too tight to avoid damaging the lights. You can repeat the same procedure to the opposite side and the rest. 4. Testing – its advisable for you to have somebody by your side when testing the performance of the car tail lights you have just installed and make sure the key is in the on position to test your blinkers, hazards, car tail lights break lights and all the other lights on your vehicle to be sure of their functions. From there you are on the safe side to move around anytime and be prepared for the added attention from admires and thieves.
