Interior Lighting – Certain Drawbacks in using LED

The strides in the development of LED technology has increased the functionality and usage of LED based equipment. Whereas traditionally LED was being used as the main component of the electronic items like TVs, Laptops, Computers and decorative lighting, these days we find a lot of diverse type of equipment making use of it. Using fans or air conditioners to offset this would be counter productive since it would defeat the very purpose of using the LED. Hence most companies are working on ways to reduce heat emissions in case of interior lighting equipment of the future.

Cost - LED equipment for interior lighting is still in its early stages and an offshoot of the basic technology that has been actually developed for TV and electronics industry. Therefore the cost is still higher than what it could be. To switch over to home use and interior lighting it would need a major reshuffle in the manufacturing plants and only after that is done, could there be a much lower cost and more usage.
