Keeping Your Motorcycle Visor From Fogging Up
Safety is number one priority when riding a motorcycle. Part of keeping yourself and others safe is not only buying the right equipment - but keeping it in good condition and usable. One of the most common issues is the visor fogging up, which can cause serious visibility issues. Here's how to keep it nice and clean, fog free – and usable.
If you are finding whilst traveling your motorcycle visor is fogging up this is due to condensation on your visor. Often caused by the difference of temperature (i.e. you and outside), it can be quite easily got rid of. The fog residing on your helmet could be due to not getting enough air flow. As you get hot and sticky as your drive along and the difference between your temperature and outsides increases, the visor will increasingly get more fogged up. This can be prevented by increasing the air flow in your helmet, so that you cool down and remain a closer temperature to the outside.
If still after this, you are having problems with a fogged up visor, give it a clean before you go out. Put a few drops of soap on the inside of your visor and carefully rub in, making sure you don't scratch anything. After smoothing the soap all over the inside of the visor, leave it to dry for a few minutes or more, then use a soft cloth to buff the soap off very gently.
You got also think about purchasing ant-fog serum or spray, which provides protection against your fog in your visor. Made to cope with high humidity and condensation issues, sprays often work really well. Not only will they provide protection against fog, but they will clean the visor too. Moreover some brands have ant-glare properties, enabling you to be safe from too much glare on the road.
You may also consider purchasing an anti-fog visor, which will somewhat protect you from fog, or an anti-fog insert that will work under the most strenuous of conditions. A fog visor will on most parts protect you from fog; however, it still does need to be cleaned with cleaner and an anti-fog serum.
Always ride your motorcycle with completely working protective equipment. It could save you or someone else's life. It's not worth going on the road without it.
Stay safe on the road and fog free by purchasing an anti-fog visor or anti-fog insert, as well as cleaning and anti-fog fluid at a motorcycle shop or online at www.visorshop.com
