Better Fuel Ratings in the 2010 Ford Mustang 4.6 Liter Engine

The Ford Mustang has been a staple of the American automotive industry for over a decade. In 2010, Ford brings a fresh face to the Mustang line. New engine options compliment this fresh face nicely. It is now easy to have fun and be responsible. Good fuel economy and serious power ensure that everyone can enjoy the 2010 Ford Mustang.

The first engine option is the 4.0L V6. This engine is rated at 210 horsepower and 240 ft lb of torque. It has received an EPA rating of 18 miles per gallon for crazy city traffic, and a conservative 26 miles per gallon while driving on the highway. The power to economy ratio is very good with this engine. It has enough power to move quickly, but saves enough fuel to ensure you get there. This engine is available on the Mustang base model, and the Mustang base model convertible.

The next engine is the 4.6L V8. This engine takes inspiration from the Ford V8s of the past. This engine has a proven track record of reliability and performance. It receives ratings of 315 horsepower and 325 ft lb of torque. A driver of a car with this engine can expect 16 miles per gallon in the city, and 24 miles per gallon on the highway. These numbers are not much lower than the 4.0L model, but this engine's power is substantially higher. This engine is perfect for someone who wants a very high level of performance, but still desires a high fuel economy rating.

Both of these engines were available on the 2009 Ford Mustang. However, they have been improved slightly. They now offer improved fuel economy, as well as higher power ratings. The new engines also use an electronic valve controller to ensure that the driver receives the very best fuel economy.
