Insight to 2011 Ford Explorer

The newly redesigned Ford Explorer is a cool crossover vehicle that is being introduced to compete with the likes of Chevrolet Traverse, Honda Pilot, and Toyota Highlander.

2011 Ford Explorer Review

This is a fuel efficient vehicle that works with the turbocharged four-cylinder. This vehicle is designed in standard front-wheel drive mechanism, and optional all-wheel drive with Ford's new Terrain Management System is also on the offer this year.

New Explorer is available in Limited, XLT, and Base trim levels as usual.

Coming to engine, this vehicle is designed with a standard 3.5-liter V-6 engine that kicks out 255 pounds-feet of torque and 290 horsepower. Ford claims mileage with the V-6 has been upgraded considerably over the past year's 4.0-liter V-6, whereas the turbo four-cylinder has almost the mileage with a V6 engine.

An all-wheel drive has the new Terrain Management System of Ford, which adjusts drive train settings for four environments; mud, sand, snow, and pavement.

Drivers are allowed to select the icon on a console knob which matches to the outside conditions. With standard V6 engine, it can tow about 5,000 pounds and 2,000 pounds with four-cylinder engine.

Exterior and Interior

This vehicle has same exterior styling as the new Edge and measures longer and wider than its previous model. The grille makes use of Ford's familiar three-bar design, and it is deigned with high intense head and tail lights.

The Limited models are painted in body color, XLT in silver and base models in gray. This vehicle is outfitted with LCD gauge screens and touch-sensitive controls. These are some noteworthy aspects of 2011 Ford Explorer; stay tuned for more updates!
