Off road vehicles are supposed to be driven in places where there are no proper roads and if there are any they are not so good. HID stands for "High Intensity Discharge". Their name came from the intense white light produced by the electrical discharge. A research study suggested that road accidents could be reduced significantly, if all cars were equipped with Xenon (HID) headlights. Importantly, the study suggests that Xenon headlights improve vehicle safety, as Xenon headlights provide two to three times as much light on the road, as well as on the sides of the road enabling the driver to see upcoming pedestrians and other roadway hazards, which leads to a greater chance of reducing nighttime accidents.
