There are so many famous sights, districts, shops and attractions in New York that you'll feel you know them before you get there. But nothing beats the experience of really being there.

A new, exciting sight that has been added is the New York City Waterfalls. This is a major new work of public art created by artist Olafur Eliasson. As you cruise along the Hudson River and through New York Harbor you can admire these 90 to 120-foot tall installations, designed to protect water quality and aquatic life. Sadly they’re only a temporary addition.

Try the real aircraft carrier museum, the Intrepid, or the more intimate art gallery, the 19th Century Frick Collection. For one of the most famous cultural institutions in the world visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Formed in 1870, the museum's collection now contains more than two million works of art from all around the world, from all times in human history. Spanning the history of world art, the museum houses hundreds of world-famous masterpieces.
