How to Test your Turn Signal Lights

One of the safety rules of the road is making sure every car light on your vehicle is working properly. If you think you may have a defective turn signal bulb or brake light, the best thing to do is to check your wiring. A test light should be used to light up the circuitry system, allowing you to see if things are working properly. There are a few different ways you can check your turn signal wiring with this tool. Here are some tips when preparing and using the test light appropriately.

1. Prepare your test light by turning the signal socket and pulling it forward for easy access.

2. Now, turn on one of your turn signal lights to run the current through the circuitry system.

3. Check out the ground signal for complete integrity and use your test light to make sure the ground signal is properly working. If it’s working, it will light up.

4. Then, test the positive side of the circuitry to determine if it’s working. The test light will light up if it is.

5. To examine if the turn signal will work, use a spare bulb. Insert the bulb onto the connector and wait until it begins to flash. If it’s working how it should, the test light will light up.
