Land rover is synonymous with outdoors and off-roading and the company has firmly established itself as an outdoor vehicle brand. Landy gear also is mostly outdoors related. The tried and tested four-wheel drive design enables the vehicle to negotiate any kind of hostile terrain and it is the first choice of campers and adventurers. The vehicles are hardy and survivable and they will stand up to the rigors of the great outdoors. The vehicles that come under this brand are Defender, Discovery, Freelander and the most well known one - Range Rover. Close to 200,000 landies are sold every year and this ensures a constant demand for land rover gear.
Side steps are popular items with good reason. This vehicle has high ground clearance. Ground clearance is the distance between the ground and the base of the vehicle and it has to be high in off-roaders like these. But this piece of landy gear is useful only if you drive in the city and you'll have to remove it for off-roading as it defeats the purpose of the high ground clearance. And if you're off-roading, chances are that you're camping or hiking and have to carry a lot of equipment. So carrier frames are also available in various configurations, sometimes customized to carry specific items like tents.
Moreover, there are fog lights and lamp guards available for those dark woody roads. land rover gear is less about making the vehicle look pretty and more about practicality. So don't expect to see things like rear spoilers and similar cosmetic accessories. These are simply not compatible with the spirit of the vehicle.
