A car alarm is a device installed in a car to protect your vehicle from theft. It is designed to be activated by vibrations, tilting or touching of the car, or when special switches are tampered with. The alarm consists of a remote transmitter, wiring harness, onboard sensor device and a horn. If one of the doors, trunk or the bonnet is opened, the alarm will activate the flashlights and the siren. The common features of today's car alarm systems are automatic rearm, ignition controlled door locks, factory alarm arm or disarm, grounded output when armed, trunk output, dome light supervision, parking light output, and car finder mode.
