Cadillac Seville is a famous and renowned model of Cadillac produced by General Motors. Cadillac Seville was launched in 1975 and continued to produce various models till 2004. Several parts of Chevrolet are used in the making of Cadillac Seville. This model of Cadillac faced several criticisms due to lacking traditional Cadillac quality; however, it still survived through all these years quite successfully. The models of Cadillac Seville produced in the years 1980 till 1985 are named as "Slantback." Cadillac Seville was first launched in 1956 as a competitor to Eldorado convertible. However, it discontinued due to several reasons and then reappeared in 1975. The 1975 version of the Cadillac Seville was comparatively smaller in size than the one produced in 1956. The 1983 model of Cadillac Seville is known to be constructed and re-engineered on the frame of Chevrolet Nova. This model had a wheel base of 114.3 inches and was 204 inches in length. This model of Cadillac Seville was equipped with a 350 cubic-inches of an Oldsmith diesel or gasoline engine. This model faced criticism due to this factor and also because of using not-so-Cadillac features and components. The Cadillac Seville produced in 1998 was a redesigned version of its predecessor models. This 1998 model of Cadillac Seville was relatively smaller in size and had sharpened lines, lower profile, and a broad posture. This was done to enhance its market and to bring it in the line of famous luxury cars. Apart from this, some other changes were also brought in the overall design of the vehicle. 
Cadillac Seville in known as the smallest Cadillac vehicle produced by General Motors. It was also the most expensive of 1975. Despite criticism and controversies, Cadillac Seville hit the market, and many Cadillac lovers admired this vehicle to a great extent. Several variation of Cadillac Seville appeared in market from time to time. A version of Cadillac Seville known as Seville "elegante" was launched in 1978. This model had a two tone colour scheme of black and silver. Another version of Cadillac Seville was launched in 1979. This version of Seville was named as Gucci Seville and had a double interlocking logo "G" of Gucci carved on the leather seats, panels, wheel covers, trunk lid, and hood ornament. 
The 2001 model of Cadillac Seville was based more on technological advancements rather than the design factor.  The last model of Cadillac Seville was launched in 2003. Till 1998, Cadillac Seville was built on Oldsmobile Aurora platform. Cadillac Seville was discontinued in the year 2003 in order to make room for the newer version of Cadillac known as Cadillac STS. All parts of Cadillac Seville are easily available in the market and on various online stores as well.
