You can also dance the night away in some of the bars, and opposite the Central Station you will find Liquid, which plays music from the seventies and eighties era and is strictly for the over 23 year olds. Nearby, for some metal rock, you can go to Ramblers. There is something for everyone in this vibrant city if you are looking for exciting night life. Eindhoven has numerous festivals throughout the year. Staying in Eindhoven hotels in the summer, there are usually lots of festivals. You can choose from the folk festival known as Folkwoods if you enjoy traditional folk music, and in the same month you could visit the reggae Sundance festival. Towards the end of June the Fiesta del Sol lasts for three days and consists of both music and theatre, attracting visitors from all over Europe. The most colourful festival has to be the Eindhoven Carnaval which cheers up the end of winter during February. Eindhoven is lit up brightly during these events, as it is the City of Lights, where some of the first light bulbs were made by the world famous Philips Company, who still operate their electronics firm today though they are now an important global company.
