Color usages in LED emergency lights

The LED emergency lights that emergency vehicles go on flashing are as bright and beautiful as the lights at a fête venue. And drivers and pedestrians on the road are well aware of the fact that they have to give way when these emergency lights flash. Red, blue, amber, and white are the most common colors found in emergency lights that police or ambulance or towing trucks use. These emergency vehicles come screeching on the road, sporting the lights in different color combinations. Every vehicle on the road instantly gives way whatever the color of the lights is. Though other vehicles need to vacate the lane irrespective of the color of the lights, each of the colors used in these halogen, strobe, or LED emergency lights, has its own meaning.

LED emergency lights are red, especially if the light is facing forward, it denotes a high emergency. Blue light signifies arrival. Amber or yellow light is used more to convey caution than emergency whether used by law enforcement agents or private vehicles. Towing trucks, construction site vehicles, parked vehicles, or vehicles that are part of some ceremonial processions and so are moving at a slower pace than other vehicles, may use amber.

LED emergency lights, though in some states school buses use it. Railroad vehicles and fuel tankers also sometimes sport white as the only color for warning lights. However, white is commonly present as an extra color in many emergency lights combinations. What different color combinations convey in emergency lights could vary from state to state. In some states all police vehicles use blue and all fire department vehicles use red and all sheriffs' office vehicles use clear lights in addition to blue and red. LED emergency lights are a common sight as warning light in snowplows. In the state of New Mexico, blue emergency lights are the prerogative of towing trucks. Green is a comparatively less used color in LED emergency lights. In some states it is used in a command vehicle. Green is also a color used by private security personnel or volunteer firefighters in some states.
